Spices from Karen's Spice Kitchen located in Asheville, NC. Each box includes a recipe to make the dish and what other ingredients you'll need aside from the spice packet. Recipes serves 4-6 people.
Asheville Brew Stew (1.41 oz), a choice of protein and vegetables simmered in a savory sauce made with onions, garlic, beer, and their special blend of spices in this hearty and delicious stew. Contains ground cumin, ground ginger, salt, turmeric, chili powder, coriander, ground black pepper, cayenne pepper, almond meal, bay leaf. You'll also need 1 large onion, 2 garlic cloves, coconut oil, 2-3 pounds boneless lamb or beef or chicken, tomato sauce, beef or chicken broth, 6 oz. dark beer, 2 small carrots, 2 sticks celery, 2 medium potatoes, and parsley or cilantro if desired.
Bobotie, South African Curried Meatloaf (1.05 oz.), a sweet curried meatloaf with a baked egg mixture topping. Contains ground ginger, salt, turmeric, ground coriander, ground cumin, madras curry powder (coriander, cumin, turmeric, cardamom, cayenne pepper, cloves, pepper, fenugreek), cayenne pepper, ground black pepper, almond meal. You'll also need 1 large onion, 2 garlic cloves, cooking oil, 2 pounds ground beef or lamb, 1 Granny Smith or other tart apple, 1 cup whole milk, slivered almonds, golden raisins, 2 slices white bread with crust removed, 2 tbsp. apricot jam/preserves, 3 large eggs, and lemon rind and juice.
Burgers/Kabobs, Middle Eastern (1.13 oz.), a delicious variation on burgers and kabobs with the exotic and classic flavors of the Middle East. Chicken Satay, Thai (1.10 oz.), a chicken dish in a rich, creamy sauce. You'll also need 1 onion, 1 garlic cloves, oil, 2-3 pounds boneless chicken thighs or breasts, coconut milk, lemon/lime juice, soy sauce, 2 tbsp. brown sugar or honey, and 1/4 cup peanut butter.
Hungarian Paprika Chicken/Fish (1.09 oz.), a nice blend for sauce or marinade on chicken and fish. Contains ground paprika, ground cumin, ground black pepper, salt, ground turmeric, ground cinnamon, almond meal. You'll also need lemon juice, 6 garlic cloves, olive oil, 2-3 pounds chicken or fish pieces, and parsley.
